The end of the world is coming. From roadside signs to science fiction films, this slogan underscores our society’s nervous fascination with the future. Whether it’s a giant asteroid, a worldwide plague, or some other global catastrophe, the end of the world is a terrifying prospect—at least for those who have no idea what it will be like. For Christians, however, the end of the world should be anything but dreadful. In fact, it should be something we actually look forward to. Why? Because God has told us how the world will end. And He has assured us that the end of this age will mark the beginning of a new, glorious one in which we will serve and worship Him in sinless perfection. Our eternal hope, as believers, is intimately tied to the end of this world. All of this is laid out in the book of Revelation. Not only is Revelation the inspired Word of God, it is also the only New Testament book that includes a promised spiritual blessing for those who study and apply its message. As such, it is an essential part of every Christian’s devotional life. Those who ignore Revelation deprive themselves of a rich treasure of divine truth, and the promised blessings that come from understanding that truth. Join John MacArthur as he explains the book of Revelation in a way that is both doctrinally precise and intensely practical.

Description :

Evidence is accumulating that the current, global civilization we enjoy is rapidly moving toward a crisis of expensive resources, water security, global warming, and potential military conflict centred in the Middle East. The Bible suggests that God anticipated the situation we see today as an inevitable outcome of our selfishness and greed. In this first of two volumes, author Ian Foley proposes the idea that the decline and collapse of this civilisation is part of the end-time picture that the Bible gives. The Old Testament book of Daniel lays out the first half of this picture, starting from the Jewish exile to Babylon at the beginning of the sixth century BC and tracing the rise and fall of ancient empires. It then introduces the founder of the final empire, which will be completed when Jesus returns. Through all this history, Daniel depicts the tiny nation of Israel surviving exactly as the prophet Jeremiah predicted. Like an unfolding detective story, God’s drama is revealed piece by piece, so that we gradually come to understand—up until the fall of the Roman Empire—with the final exciting revelation in Daniel 11– 12 completing the picture. This study begins to reveal why there is so much confusion with our end-time theologies and suggests a new revelation that is clearer and less ambiguous, integrating the books of Daniel and Revelation into a single, unambiguous message.

Description :

For nearly 2,000 years, the book of Revelation has been viewed as the most difficult book in the Bible. The hundreds of commentaries in the Library of Congress testify that there is no unanimity about the meaning of the symbols of Revelation. And yet this is the only book in the Bible where a special blessing is pronounced on its readers. It’s a book from Jesus Christ about himself, his gospel, the future, and what will happen to the saints at the end of time. Desmond Ford’s Introduction to the Book of Revelation is the fruit of decades of study plus research at the University of Manchester under Professor F. F. Bruce. Ford off ers a much neglected key—this sacred book can only be unlocked by understanding the preceding 65 books of the Bible and, in particular, the life, teachings, and death of Jesus. The main message of Revelation is that the church is to repeat the experience of its Lord. After its final proclamation of the gospel, it will be condemned to martyrdom. And this climactic sin of the world will precipitate the return of Christ in glory.

Description :

A Confident Peace shows the book of Revelation as more than prophetic timelines or tales with apocalyptic images. It inspires full surrender to Christ and living with confident peace even when life falls apart. When hurt by the sins of others, when persecuted by ungodly governments, when impacted by the death and disease of a fallen world, when frustrated by friends and family who repeatedly turn from God instead of to Him, Revelation helps us walk these unwanted roads with confident peace. A Confident Peace also reminds us the more things change the more they stay the same. God's holiness, Satan's deception, and humanity's sinfulness are constants from age to age. Looking into the future, Revelation gives us a confident peace to recognize Satan's deceptions, overcome our sinful inclinations and honor God with our lives today. Furthermore, A Confident Peace gives us God's big picture. It reminds us the One who started it all wins it all. With over 550 Old Testament references, the book of Revelation ties together God's activity throughout scripture. Seeing the thread of God's hand tightly woven in our past and future gives us confident peace, especially when it feels life is unraveling all around us.

Indeed, Revelation offers every Christian believer a dramatic and hope-filled overview of what the end of days will be like. Although some think Revelation is confusing, or even scary, with its talk of dragons and beasts, the text contains a proper understanding of where his- tory is headed. Rogers makes clear how the signs of the times already reveal God's plan for bringing his people to full redemption, empowering us to live boldly while expecting the return of King Jesus as the triumphant Lamb.

Often this world seems like a nightmare. Human trafficking, young girls trapped in brothels, child soldiers forced to become killers, unchecked plagues and diseases, economic injustice and the oppression of the poor. Millions around the world are trapped in this nightmare, and we may feel helpless to do anything about it. But God has a dream. York Moore paints a vivid picture of how the dream of God is breaking into history to make all things new. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, God is bringing an end to the world's nightmare of sin and death. Scripture's vision of Jesus' end-time work shows how the wrongs will be made right, and God's just judgment is good news for the world. Unpacking how the Bible describes the last things, Moore shows how we can partner with God as he brings his dream to reality. Every time a well is dug for a community, food is provided for the hungry or sex traffickers are brought to justice, the dream begins to take hold. This is no mere wishful thinking. The dream of God is more real than your dreams could ever imagine. It is what we were created for. So wake up from the nightmare and join in what God is doing in the world. And flourish as your own dreams are transformed by God's dream for all creation.

Description :

Unceremoniously dismissed from his lectureship in New Testament, Dr. Edward J. Sutherland uses his forced retirement to struggle through a thicket of end-times issues in a conservative church. Interaction with a defense lawyer induces him to reconsider his inherited eschatology by engaging honestly with the biblical text. He faces conflict within himself, with a crusading dispensationalist, church elders, a newly appointed American pastor, and a militant atheist. Set in the Sunshine Coast of subtropical Australia, the book goes beyond entertaining through romance, touches of humor, and conflict resolution. Readers are exposed to vigorous discussions: at a surf club, a backyard barbecue, a second-coming conference, in a neighbor's lounge room, or via email. They are forced to examine their presuppositions on topics including the rapture, the antichrist, the tribulation, the purpose of Christ's second coming, and the kingdom of God. Whether they alter their views on such topics is less important than that they cultivate sound principles of biblical interpretation, uphold the integrity of Jesus and the biblical authors, and respect fellow Christians with whom they disagree.

Description :

In the Lord’s recovery during the past five hundred years the church’s knowledge of the Lord and His truth has been continually progressing. This monumental and classical work by Brother Witness Lee builds upon and is a further development of all that the Lord has revealed to His church in the past centuries. It is filled with the revelation concerning the processed Triune God, the living Christ, the life-giving Spirit, the experience of life, and the definition and practice of the church. In this set Brother Lee has kept three basic principles that should rule and govern every believer in their interpretation, development, and expounding of the truths contained in the Scriptures. The first principle is that of the Triune God dispensing Himself into His chosen and redeemed people; the second principle is that we should interpret, develop, and expound the truths contained in the Bible with Christ for the church; and the third governing principle is Christ, the Spirit, life, and the church. No other study or exposition of the New Testament conveys the life nourishment or ushers the reader into the divine revelation of God’s holy Word according to His New Testament economy as this one does.

Jesus said go therefore and make disciples of all the nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all that I commanded you and lo I am with you always, even to the end of the age.The end of the age means the end of the church age and the church has been on the earth for 2,000 years. I wrote this book about the book of Revelation in the Bible. Revelation is the last book in The Word of God and gives those that read it and hear it an inside look at the things to come. The book of Revelation of Jesus Christ written in 95 AD. It's not a modern day revelation of men. Many inside and outside the church have tried to explain it; furthermore, most believers and unbelievers have ignored it. It's important to keep in mind that the Bible is not a complex book as a whole; therefore, the book of Revelation should not be viewed as too difficult to understand. Text of Scripture used for this book is King James Version (KJV) and New American Standard Bible (NASB) that are both considered by scholars, the most literal translations of the original Hebrew and Greek. I also excluded book, chapter, and verse in the KJV because I didn't want it to distract from the readability. I did include book, chapter, and verse in the NASB to help explain the meaning. For the record, the original texts did not list book, chapter, and verse. These titles were added later by publishers to make it easier to read and learn the Word of God. God sent this final message to explain the things at the end of the church age. The book is divided into three parts: the past, the present, and the future.Although there are abstract verses the symbolic language always represents a reality behind the passage. The word Revelation means uncover. It brings to light. Jesus Christ reveals Himself to man. If you keep this in mind, the mystery of Revelation is really no mystery at all. What was not known about God can be known. As we work our way through the Scripture, I'll keep the focus on literal interpretation of Scripture. Because our sinful nature wants to deny the revealed truth of God, my goal is not to read in between the lines. I think the words speak for themselves. We are all guilty of taking the words of others out of context, so lets not do that with the words of God either. Remember, the value of the text in the Bible is found when it makes sense, it's written so we can know God.Sometimes what is true is hard to accept but it's valuable to know. For example, we all die. Revelation is simple when we keep it simple and avoid over thinking it. I have included some famous names inside and outside the church. Names known. I did this on purpose. I didn't do it to hurt the feelings of those that follow them. Read and hear this important Bible verse. Paul said to the church in Ephesus to be imitators of God in Ephesians 5:11 Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness but instead even expose them.

Remember when End Time Rewind warned you not to fall for the Doomsday-Rapture theories of Dispensational Premillennialism and their Zionist partners? Well, now that we've survived John Hagee's Four Blood Moons, Jonathan Cahn's Super Shemitah, and the menacing tentacles of the now defunct European Union and Islamic State (the supposed Beast Kingdoms of Revelation 17), the Futurist's next false claim centers around the 70-year anniversary of Israel's founding. Is the Jewish State really the prophetic clock by which God aligns world events and the return of Christ? Many Doomsday-Rapture forecasts have been put forth in the name of Futurism since the 2nd-century AD, none of which have come to fruition. This is disconcerting, because failed predictions and false expectations promoted by our Christian counterparts diminishes the credibility of the Bible and scars the reputation and integrity of the Prophetic Office of Jesus Christ. The age-old, tried-and-true Orthodox (aka Partial or Classical) Preterist approach maintains that the majority of Bible prophecies were already fulfilled by the end of the first century AD, and included Jesus' appearing in an Old Testament-styled, non-physical manifestation with power and great glory. All that remains to be accomplished in the future is for Jesus Christ to physically return to raise the dead (which is when the rapture also occurs), preside over the final judgment, and create a new heaven and earth devoid of sin and death where the new and holy Jerusalem from heaven descends (as per Revelation 20:7 - Revelation 22:5).

Description :

The book of Revelation is confusing to read. Images of beasts, trumpets, plagues, and even dragons fill its pages. In his book, Power and Purpose, Russ Lackey guides readers on an adventure through the harrowing pages of Revelation in a clear and accessible way. Along the journey, issues such as economic and political injustice, ecology, evangelism, and synthesizing faith with everyday life are raised with the hope of Christ woven throughout. The main question of the book is not how does a person escape this world, rather, who is the Lord of this world? Christians who pick up Revelation with this question in mind do not try to escape society, rather, they work to reform it. Doing this they discover that true power and purpose comes from Christ, the Lamb who was slain. This is a must read for anyone desiring to better understand the book of Revelation.
