A short book, for a long journey... A Gentle Whisper is a personal and poetic exploration of Elijah's journey recorded in 1st Kings 19:11&12, "The Lord said, 'Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.' Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper." We all feel the invitation behind the words "a gentle whisper", but our concepts of God have very little to do with gentleness. In our spiritual journeys we've encountered horrific winds, terrifying earthquakes, and ferocious fires. Today, most popular theology mistakenly helps us grapple with the idea that God is in those oppositional elements and circumstances by rephrasing and perpetuating religious platitudes. God is not in the wind, earthquake, or fire. Jesus clarified this message when he came as Emmanuel: God is with us. How do we have ears to hear a gentle whisper while wind roars all around us? How do we trust God while our foundations are shaking and breaking apart? How do we wait like Elijah with a peace that surpasses understanding while fires surround us? The answers have to be experienced before they can truly be learned. A Gentle Whisper helps us discover our own paths and routes to that experience by taking a deeply personal look at Elijah's fascinating journey. "Pick this book up... Let it be a companion to you... Let Josh walk with you for he trusts the prophet and the mystic in us all and a world that longs for us to come alive." - Fr. Dan Riley, OFM. "Josh has written a short, poignant treatise on the immediacy of the presence of God. He reaches below the traumatic or romantic in life and challenges us to hear God's 'Gentle Whisper.' He creatively writes where we all live or have lived: Where we have all struggled and questioned. Thank you, Josh, for finishing some of the unfinished sentences of our lives." Jerry Cook, speaker and co-author of Love, Acceptance and Forgiveness "A Gentle Whisper is less of a book and more of a journey. After reading it, I had the sense that I had just taken a walk with a mysterious wise old sage who had told me a tale that would leave my view of God forever transformed. The story of Elijah standing on the mountain has taken on new meaning in my heart and made me realize that most of us, at some point in our lives, are standing there with him." Ryan Brown, Pastor and National NextGen Rep for the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel "Josh has spent a good portion of his young adult life cultivating an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying. This book is a furtive result of that cultivation. His ability to communicate, in a fresh way, an ancient concept that is desperately needed in our generation is refreshing. I wept openly before God as I was finishing the last chapter and very quickly personally experienced the Gentle Whisper he described. I'll be reading this book again and again for my own personal development." Ron Pinkston, speaker, the author's father and co-author of Trusting God When You Have Cancer

Description :

This issue of The Ministry of the Word contains the eight messages given during the international training for elders and responsible ones held in Anaheim, California, on April 5 through 7, 2019. The general subject of this series of messages is "The Development of the Kingdom of God in the Christian Life and the Church Life." The kingdom of God is a wonderful person--the Lord Jesus Christ, who as the Sower sowed the seed of the kingdom into the soil of our heart. This kingdom seed, which is Christ Himself as both the King and the kingdom through the word, needs to grow and develop in our inner being to become God's ruling realm. The kingdom is the realm of life for the divine life to move, rule, and govern so that life may accomplish its purpose. The kingdom that is developing is not only divine life but also Christ Himself as a wonderful person expanding within us. Before there can be the manifestation of the kingdom with the Lord's coming, there must be the reality of the kingdom inwardly and the practicality of the kingdom in the Christian life and the church life. In our Christian life, we live the kingdom life by living a hidden life. Because the kingdom has been sown as a seed into us, the development and manifestation of the kingdom must come from the hidden growth of the roots within the soil. The kingdom life is a life in the depths, a life that can "take root downward and bear fruit upward" (Isa. 37:31). The principle of the kingdom people is that they live a hidden life, not performing their righteous deeds before men. Messages 1 and 2 emphasize the Christian life, particularly the inward reality of the kingdom that is developing and the matter of learning to have a life hidden in God so that the kingdom life may deepen in us. The kingdom is the reality of the church, and the church is the practical expression and representation of the kingdom. Apart from the kingdom life, we cannot live the church life. The genuine church is the kingdom of God in this age. Today the believers live the kingdom life in the church. Messages 3 through 6 focus on various aspects of the kingdom and the church. Message 3 directly concerns the kingdom and the church. Message 4 is on relationships in the kingdom. In particular, it is on the seriousness of living a forgiving life so that we will have no issues before the Son of Man that will cost us the kingdom reward. In Message 5 we see the need for shutting up the gates of Hades through the exercise of the keys of denying the self, taking up the cross, and losing the soul-life. Message 6 focuses on the responsibility of the church to engage in spiritual warfare, mainly through prayer, because of the conf lict between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. The responsibility of the church is to bring the kingdom of God to the earth in glorious manifestation. Message 7 is concerned with our being watchful in life and faithful in service. For life, we need oil, the Spirit of God, even His filling, that we may be enabled to live the virgin life for the Lord's testimony. For service, for work, we need the talent, the spiritual gift, that we may be equipped as a good slave to accomplish what the Lord intends to accomplish. Message 8 concludes this series by releasing a burden on proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom throughout the entire inhabited earth and discipling the nations. The gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole inhabited earth for a testimony to all the nations before the end of this age. We have the authority, commission, and position of our resurrected Christ to disciple the nations for the spread and development of the kingdom of God. The Announcements section at the end of this issue contains a list of upcoming conferences and trainings hosted by Living Stream Ministry and a website link for information related to similar events in Europe.

Deep calleth unto deep; Psalms 42:7 says. Are you listening? Perhaps we need to be a little more attentive. One thing is for sure, God has no problem speaking, for the Lord shall cause His glorious voice to be heard. My prayer is that the Lord can use this book to help us hear. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends. The Great X-Cape II (God’s Amazing Love) takes spiritual concepts from my first book, The Great X-Cape, expounds on those spiritual concepts in more detail, and is a continuation of my first book. Through the storms, through the valleys, and through the fire, God has been a constant source of motivation, inspiration, and comfort, and He has been my bridge over troubled water as I continue to make my great escape each day by faith. He is God on the mountain and He is still God even if we are facing the darkest valley that we could have ever imagined. There is a hiding place in God that we can enter into where our troubles can no longer find us as we find our faith in God and place our complete confidence in Him. God has turned my greatest tragedies into my greatest victories, my impossibilities into possibilities, and has become, to me, the greatest Superhero that I have ever known. When we surrender our self-made invisible cape to God, we will find that nothing is impossible with Him.

Description :

What this book reveals: God Almighty needed a trusted vessel – the right body – to channel His salvation plan. After centuries of search, He did settle on Mary, a virgin girl that lived in Galilee, who had the perfect body, the right attitude, and sufficient faith. Undeniably, an imperfect body would have defiled the divine nature of Christ; the wrong attitude would have delayed the salvation plan, and an insufficient faith would have jeopardized the entire plan. When God found the right body, He did not only purify it, but He also filled it with infinite grace. Indeed, the salvific project required maximum precision; precision that aught to be multimillion times more accurate than sending shuttles into space. Fault tolerance for the salvific mission was zero. Mary was not only part of the plan, but her body, attitude, and faith were critical to the success of the entire mission. While it is true that God prepared Mary she for the role, God respected her freewill and sought her cooperation. Unlike Eve, she cooperated with God and submitted to His will. While many Christians do not give Mary her pride of place, their disdain does not diminish the unique role she played in the salvific plan. Also, their disdain does not diminish the favors she gained from God and made manifest by her divine maternity. Indeed, Mary is blessed above all women, not because we think, believe, or say so, but because it is so. Indeed, the Mighty One has done great things for her, and holy is His Name. Pidomson navigates on a very high frequency of spiritual plane. I commend him for this excellent treaties on the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is an area of Christian doctrine that few venture to explore. The author has shown that it is not an impossible task. – Rev. Fr. Prof. John U. Gangwari, Catholic Institute of West Africa Pidomson’s revelatory book gives us the enlightened, timeless wisdom of Mariology in a way that helps us to rediscover the original meaning and efficacy of time tested devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He presents his arguments with clarity and simplicity that transcends theological nitpicking. This timeless spiritual message is urgently needed. – Rev. Mesgr. Livy Boniko, Parish Pastor, Immaculate Heart Parish, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. This book is about the Mother of Jesus who has bequeathed to us the lively example of knowing how to continue prodding God for divine compassion and generosity. Her intervention in John 2 reveals her to be a catalyst to Jesus’ extravagant generosity, both in quantity and quality that kept the wedding party at Cana in Galilee going. These lines beautifully crafted by Dr. Gabriel Pidomson encourages us through the example of Mary to know how to nudge God, asking what God has in mind for our particular challenges even as She intercedes for us saying “They have no wine.” – Rev. Msgr. Dr. Pius Kii. Faculty of Canon Law, Catholic Institute of West Africa “Pidomson’s work is a masterpiece. The book will go far to touch so many souls – believing, doubting, and seemingly lost. I thank God for granting me the opportunity to be thinly associated with this divine message/revelation. May God bless him for this divine revelation.” – Mr. Chris Okonkwo, Editor in Chief, National Network

According to a recent study, less than 10% of Christians make major life decisions using the Bible and prayer! One reason for that appalling statistic is that though the Biblepromises that God guides His people, it does not, in one single place, tell how. Consequently, many of God's people do not know how to get God's guidance. In God's Guidance, How It Works; How to Get It, the author pulls pictures and principles from one end of the Word of God to the other in order to set down a clear and simple explanation of how God's guidance works and how to get it. This book is Biblical, simple, and amply illustrated with stories both from the Bible and from those who seek to follow the Bible. If you want to learn how to get God's guidance, then you have come to the right book.

In How to Believe in God, Clark Strand, an accomplished master of both Eastern and Western mystical practices, takes on the most troublesome and provocative passages from Judeo-Christian scripture, transforming the Bible into a manual of spiritual liberation for the twenty-first-century seeker. Offering a revolutionary new model of approaching the Bible, he frees those sacred scriptures from superstition, dogma, and tribalism, and in the process recovers their universal teaching on salvation and belief. Drawing on his personal experiences, including his Bible Belt upbringing, his years as a Buddhist monk, and his life as a father and husband in a small rural community, Strand makes even the most subtle spiritual teaching heartfelt and accessible. How to Believe in God illuminates a clear path to reclaiming a God that leaves nothing out and leaves no one behind. His open, gentle, pioneering approach to faith allows everyone—from churchgoing Christians to those with no religious affiliation at all—to experience the Bible in new and exciting ways.
