Being used by God is an adventure you won't want to miss! Major Ian Thomas, a British theologian, teacher, and the founder of Torchbearers Bible Schools, spent seven exhausting years trying to live for Christ when he realized that God actually just wanted to live through Him. He offered this extremely simple advice in considering the Christian life: Go where you are sent, stay where you are put, and do what you are asked. With her trademark warmth and keen sense of humor, esteemed Bible study teacher Jill Briscoe follows Major Thomas's example to help readers learn how to allow God to live through them, finding their mission field to be right before them--in the space between their own two feet. She uses stories from her own life and of other contemporaries to unpack the story of Moses in helping us better understand our true worth and calling. She asks, "What is your Jerusalem, your Judea, your Samaria? Whether you're fifty or fifteen, you are called to be God's light in a troubled world." This classic work is being updated to include conversation starters and Bible study questions at the end of each chapter.

But God had a different plan-and a sense of humor. God set Curt on a surprising, exhilarating journey that led him to become (you guessed it!) a pastor and missionary who worked with teens. When Curt moved to Africa as a missionary, he found himself fighting off spitting cobras, hearing accounts of man-eating lions, helping capture criminals, and spiritually wrestling with the powers of darkness. In this hilarious account of his African adventures Curt proves that ending up where you least expected can be more fun, exciting, and satisfying than you ever imagined. Book jacket.

Description :

Church leadership and authority have been perennial theological issues facing Protestant churches of the Reformed tradition since the sixteenth century. What is ordination and what occurs when the Church ordains women and men to offices are questions that Reformed churches have attempted to answer for over five hundred years. In Here I Am, Lord, Send Me, Neal Presa combs the rich confessional, constitutional, and theological tradition of the Reformed churches. He critiques previous methods that have tried to answer questions of the meaning of ordination, and then proposes a new methodology that focuses on the ritual and stories of ordination, the shape and content of an assembly's worship. This work provides pathways for deeper and helpful engagement with present church debates and ecumenical discussions on ordination and ecclesiastical authority.

Once again, God continues to remind me that my life is a lifetime of untold stories that I must share with the world. It is God who inspires the stories for me to tell to the world. As God was preparing my mind to write this story, I personally had experience many of the things that I talk about in this book. There is one thing that I have accepted as I wrote this book, and that is, "For in God we live, and move, and have our being" (Acts 17:28). I'm just saying that God is the source of our very existence. This is why, I practice believing "that I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Phil. 4:13). I want you to know that what God does for one person, he can do the same for you. That is the purpose of this book: to give hope to those who are hopeless and helpless. I believe that we need to get to know ourselves because we don't know ourselves as well as we think we do. But I know someone who knows all of us better than we know ourselves (Jer. 1:5). Let me encourage and inspire someone that the one who knows you better that you know yourselves is Jesus. He also has your best interest at heart. I recommend that we consider submitting, and surrendering to him because he is the life that we've all been searching for (John 1:1–14).So it is, my brothers and my sisters, when you come to know who Jesus is, you will also come to know who you are. When God made you, he made the best you there is. So it is up to you not to lose hope nor your self-esteem, but you ought to continue your pursuit of being the best that you can be with God's help. Jesus gives this hope to all those who will believe and trust him. In John 10:10b, Jesus says, "I come that you have life, and have life more abundantly." My brothers and my sisters, it is my prayer that you be the best that you can be with the resources that God provides, for all of us. Every day that you wake up, it is another for improvement in your life. Please don't let life's opportunities pass you by, but start taking advantage of every opportunity that comes your way because life is too short to pass it up.Stop underestimating your worth. God said that everything that he made was good and very good that includes you and me, amen (Gen. 1:31).With much love, I send these pages of my life out into the world with the hope that someone's life will be the better. Also, I want to remind someone that their life also is a book, whether it's open are closed, it can be shared with the world. It's a wonderful thing to know that we reap what we sow. In other words, what goes around comes around. Amen. When we invest in others, we also invest in ourselves (Gal. 6:7–8).May God always bless and keep you.

Description :

What do compassionate leaders with years of experience have to say to leaders of today? What does Christ's example show us about leadership? What are the perils and pitfalls that can ensnare young Christian leaders? In Compassionate Leadership, Ted Engstrom and Paul Cedar bring their considerable experience to bear on the issues facing young leaders of today. Instead of discussing power, management, and organization, their advice involves being generous, believing in people, and helping to meet needs, encouraging friends, getting excited about the good things that happen to others, and helping others in their walk with the Lord. Jesus told us that to become great, we must be compassionate servants. Here's how.

She wonders if Jesus really cares about her the way grandma says. God’s conviction weighs heavily upon her mind as she ponders what to do next. Finally in desperation, she goes to the bathroom at the school and calls out to Jesus for her souls Salvation. She laid down her load of guilt and shame and Jesus washed her as white as the snow. Shortly thereafter, Principal prater sends a note home to her grandparents telling of a school board meeting that has been scheduled to review Rachael’s absentees at the school. The note said that they also wanted to address the subject of Rachael’s negative attitude with the other students. At the meeting, Rachael is told that she must finish the school year at The Bentley School for Wayward Girls. Rachael’s stay at the school is very unpleasant at the start. However God opens so many doors at Bentley as he demonstrates his power and love for all. Upon graduation, Rachael goes to Africa to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a missionary. Her long awaited dream of helping the unfortunates was finally going to be realized, or so she thought. Upon entering the village, however, she had serious doubts. Burying the dead was a daily matter and weighed heavily upon Rachael. Finally in desperation she decides to go back to America and ask for help for the Kenyan people. After many failed efforts she decides to go visit her parents before going back to Africa.. Who do you suppose she runs into there. You're right, it was her old boyfriend George Fulton..After hearing about the people of Africa and their state, he quits his Chief of Staff position at the local hospital and goes back to Africa with Rachael. Many years later after a world of success, they come back home to America and settle in the little town of Townsend, Tennessee. They opened a medical clinic on their property and minister to the needs of the people who live in that area.

Description :

A revolutionary cure! This book is a revolutionary cure! In its preface, author Z.T. Fomum says these are messages taught at a time when the church was registering an increasing number of young ministers. Since the ministry depends on the quality of ministers who are available to the Lord, it was a question of presenting to the young ministers, in the light of the Scriptures, ways and means for the foundation of a glorious ministry, by equally glorious ministers, radically separated from self and sin, and totally surrendered or given to the Lord. This is the purpose for which this book is published. It is an outline of the fundamental principles for ministry in perfect holiness and from a position of renunciation - a revolutionary cure!

Then Jesus came to them and said: “All authority in heaven and in earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations...” Matthew 28:18-19a. As Christians, as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are called to face the challenge of the unfinished task of evangelization. More than two centuries after the ascension of Jesus, there are still many people, many nations, many tribes, many tongues that have not been reached with the gospel. And as members of the body of Christ, we, the people of Christian Missionary Fellowship International (CMFI) are called to present to the Lord one billion disciples in 250 nations who give total obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ by 2065. Our beloved Brother Zach was concerned not only by the challenge of an unfinished task but by the eternal lost of many souls for whom Christ died. That is the essence of The Work is The Worker (The School of Knowing and Serving God). What does the School of Knowing And Serving God stand for? It stands: To remind men that they are bound. To remind men that they are bound to the billions of people on Planet Earth. To remind men that they are bound to labor. To remind men that they are bound to the radical and total pouring of themselves. To remind men that they are bound to ensure that none perishes. To remind men that they are bound to ensure that anyone who can be saved is saved. To remind men that they are bound to ensure that anyone who can be brought to Christ is brought to Him. To remind men that they are bound to the total purpose of God. To remind men that they are bound to present every man mature in Christ. To remind men that they are bound to individuals. To remind men that they are bound to whole villages. To remind men that they are bound to whole nations. To remind men that they are bound to whole continents. To remind men that they are bound with the love of Christ. Are you willing to face the task? Are you willing to call others, to build people to face the task? As you read this book, may you be found as a worker on the field.

We all admire the hero. That person who’s celebrated for accomplishing big things in the face of even bigger odds. Yet heroes aren’t defined by their circumstances, but by their choices. They’re people who continually choose to serve others, even when no one is watching, and without expecting credit. Based on the books of Ezra, Haggai, and Zechariah, this study examines three unsung heroes of the Bible who can inspire us today. Part of Dr. Warren W. Wiersbe’s best-selling “BE” commentary series, BE Heroic has now been updated with study questions and a new introduction by Ken Baugh. A respected pastor and Bible teacher, Dr. Wiersbe shares small ways we can make a big impact. Because when it’s all about being a servant, we all have what it takes to be a hero.

Read the book that has inspired hundreds of thousands to change the world and the book that shows how best to accomplish that change. Together for the first time in one volume, The Hole in Our Gospel, revised and updated, and Unfinished take us on a breathtaking journey to rediscover the critical mission of Christ in our world today and the richness of God’s calling on our lives. The Hole in Our Gospel is a compelling true story of a corporate CEO who set aside worldly success for something far more significant and discovered the full power the gospel of Jesus Christ to change his own life. He uses his journey to demonstrate how the gospel—the whole gospel—was always meant to be a world-changing social revolution, a revolution that begins with us. This special edition of The Hole in Our Gospel includes a new epilogue from author Richard Stearns, a church resource guide, color charts and graphs on the needs of the world, and a concordance on poverty and justice. “Unfinished might just challenge everything you thought you understood about your Christian faith,” says Bill Hybels, senior pastor of the Willow Creek Community Church. “If every Christian read this book and took it seriously, the world would never be the same again.” Just before he left, Jesus sent his followers into the world with a revolutionary mission: to change the world by proclaiming God’s truth and demonstrating his incredible love. But the single task he gave us to accomplish remains unfinished. “Just when I dare think my work is done, Rich reminds me that we are just getting started,” says Max Lucado, pastor and best-selling author. Why are we here, what is our purpose, and where do we fit in the bigger story that God is writing? How should our faith affect our careers, our money, our families, and our lives? And why does it matter? We will find our deepest purpose only when we discover the unique role God created for us to play in his unfolding story.
