Losing My Virginity is the unusual, frequently outrageous autobiography of one of the great business geniuses of our time. When Richard Branson started his first business, he and his friends decided that "since we're complete virgins at business, let's call it just that: Virgin." Since then, Branson has written his own "rules" for success, creating a group of companies with a global presence, but no central headquarters, no management hierarchy, and minimal bureaucracy. Many of Richard Branson's companies--airlines, retailing, and cola are good examples--were started in the face of entrenched competition. The experts said, "Don't do it." But Branson found golden opportunities in markets in which customers have been ripped off or underserved, where confusion reigns, and the competition is complacent. And in this stressed-out, overworked age, Richard Branson gives us a new model: a dynamic, hardworking, successful entrepreneur who lives life to the fullest. Family, friends, fun, and adventure are equally important as business in Branson's life. Losing My Virginity is a portrait of a productive, sane, balanced life, filled with rich and colorful stories:

"Impressionistic and engaging ... Fankhauser boldly offers new wisdom." - Bromleigh McCleneghan, pastor and author of Good Christian Sex --- On the 8th day, God created sexual intercourse. And it was good. But for girls like Dani Fankhauser who were told sex was only to happen once you cross the threshold of marriage, that "goodness" seemed...questionable. As young women, we learned how to say "No" to sex, but not how to ask a guy to put on a condom. We were told to limit physical affection because it undermined love, but not how to deal with our own desires and drive. Our own bodies, and their capacity for pleasure, were left a mystery. In SHAMELESS, Fankhauser writes about the questions she had that couldn't be answered by mainstream culture or by Christian communities - about shame, love, intimacy, and STDs.

Description :

Nervous, inexperienced, confused. For most, losing your virginity is one of life's most significant moments, always to be remembered. Of course, experiences vary, but Laura Carpenter asks: Is there an ideal way to lose it? What would constitute a “positive” experience? What often compels the big step? And, further, what does “going all the way” really mean for young gays and lesbians? In this first comprehensive study of virginity loss, Carpenter teases out the complexities of all things virgin by drawing on interviews with both young men and women who are straight, gay or bisexual. Virginity Lost offers a rare window into one of life's most intimate and significant sexual moments. The stories here are frank, poignant and fascinating as Carpenter presents an array of experiences that run the gamut from triumphant to devastating. Importantly, Carpenter argues that one's experience of virginity loss can have a powerful impact on one's later sexual experiences. Especially at a time of increased debate about sexual abstinence versus safe sex education in public schools, this important volume will provide essential information about the sex lives of young people.

No Pot, No Window is a true story about my life starting in the year 1951 when I was born in Marshall, Texas, to poor, uneducated parents. This book is intended to be a motivator and inspiration to all the people struggling to survive financially as I did for the majority of my life. The expression ?no pot, no window? means you are so poor that you don?t have a pot to pee in or a window to throw it out. I believe poverty, lack of education, a negative home environment, alcohol and/or drug abuse, bad judgment, a single parent home, disease/illness, and sometimes just plain bad luck keeps the syndrome of ?no pot, no window? perpetuating generation after generation. My abusive alcoholic father abandoned my two sisters and me when I was nine years old, and my codependent mother was absent from my life for many years. After my father left and my parents divorced, my mother spent the rest of her life looking for another husband to support her. She was married nine times and never did find her Prince Charming, just another drunk she met at a bar and dragged home. When I was ten years old, my mother sent my two sisters and me to live with her parents for over three years, and during this period she was completely absent from our lives. My maternal grandparents, who were survivors of the Great Depression of 1929, were very tight with their money and affection. They really did not want to raise three young children but decided we would be a valuable asset as farmhands on their five-acre farm. My mother came back into my life when I was thirteen years old and the saga of stepfathers began. At the age of sixteen, I had a job, a car, and was self-sufficient. Unfortunately, I was also a juvenile delinquent because I had little or no parental supervision. For lack of any other options, I joined the military in 1969, during the height of the Vietnam War, and began the long journey of becoming an adult. Due to my immaturity and poor judgment, I was married and divorced three times before the age of thirty and became a single parent to my only child. When I was thirty-two years old, I was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer and spent the next five years struggling to stay alive physically and financially. With the assistance of the military, I was able to obtain my bachelor of arts degree from the University of Mississippi in 1982 and a masters of forensic science from George Washington University in 1986. After twenty-one years of active duty service, I subsequently retired as a lieutenant from the United States Navy in 1993. I refused to accept and was able to overcome the ?no pot, no window? plight because of my perseverance, hard work, and most importantly, advanced education. I changed my life from sour lemons to sweet lemonade!

Many women in the third world and even some civilized countries have been victims of rape and other forms of sexual molestation at one time or the other. The situation is worse in Africa, where such incidents go unreported because of fear of stigmatization by society. In many parts of Africa, the girl-child grows up in an environment that exposes her to physical, mental, emotional, and sexual abuse that leaves physical and emotional scars she carries all her life. In The Mystery of a Stolen Virginity, Charlotte grew in such an environment where she faced a series of physical, emotional, and sexual molestation. She believed she had successfully navigated through her treacherous environment and successfully preserved her virginity for her eventual husband, Anthony Camper- a loving and very caring man. Throughout their courtship, sexual relationship was excluded and reserved for the magical wedding night. It is ironic, even tragic, when she and her husband discovered on their wedding night that the much cherished and respected virginity had mysteriously disappeared. This shocking discovery raises several questions: To whom, when, and where did Charlotte Camper loose her virginity? Did Charlotte know that she was no longer a virgin? Can their young marriage survive this early shock?

"Wise and witty... Losing It is cringingly insightful about sex and dating and all the ways we tie ourselves into knots over both." --The New York Times Book Review A hilarious novel that Maggie Shipstead calls "charming... witty and insightful," about a woman who still has her virginity at the age of twenty-six, and the summer she's determined to lose it—and find herself. Julia Greenfield has a problem: she's twenty-six years old and she's still a virgin. Sex ought to be easy. People have it all the time! But, without meaning to, she made it through college and into adulthood with her virginity intact. Something's got to change. To re-route herself from her stalled life, Julia travels to spend the summer with her mysterious aunt Vivienne in North Carolina. It's not long, however, before she unearths a confounding secret—her 58 year old aunt is a virgin too. In the unrelenting heat of the southern summer, Julia becomes fixated on puzzling out what could have lead to Viv's appalling condition, all while trying to avoid the same fate. For readers of Rainbow Rowell and Maria Semple, and filled with offbeat characters and subtle, wry humor, Losing It is about the primal fear that you just. might. never. meet. anyone. It's about desiring something with the kind of obsessive fervor that almost guarantees you won't get it. It's about the blurry lines between sex and love, and trying to figure out which one you're going for. And it's about the decisions—and non-decisions—we make that can end up shaping a life.

The Final Conclusion to Ren and Della’s Story. “What do you do when you write down all your secrets? No…that’s not enough. What do you do when you write down all your secrets and the one person who should never read them does? I’ll tell you what you do. You hope.” REN Ren didn’t know the meaning of love until he took Della for his own. To begin with, he hated her, but as the months bled into years, he learned the opposite of hate, dedicating his life to giving her everything. Every sacrifice, every gift, he gave wholeheartedly. But then love turned to lust and ruined everything. DELLA I was stupid to write down my secrets, but I’d been stupid before, so it was nothing new. I couldn’t blame him, hate him, fix him. I tried to move on without him. But no matter what I did, I couldn’t seem to delete the secrets I’d written. Until something happened. Until he came back and read my stupid secrets. And nothing was the same after that.
