Description :

Beloved missionary, Sarah Young, shares another deeply spiritual devotional to help readers grow in grace, hear from God, and walk with Jesus TodayTM. Her first book, the acclaimed bestseller, Jesus Calling, was born after years of writing in her prayer journal and feeling led to write down what she believed God was telling her. Gradually, her prayer journal turned from a monologue to a dialogue. Knowing that her writings were not inspired as Scripture is, this process still helped her grow closer in her walk with God. In Jesus TodayTM, readers will be renewed with a deeper sense of hope as Sarah shares this about her spiritual journey in writing the book: "When I began writing Jesus Today, I was deeply discouraged by the failure of many months of intensive medical treatment to improve my health. However, the longer I worked on the book-focusing on finding hope in Jesus-the more hopeful and encouraged I became."

In this new and beautiful edition designed specifically for women, missionary Sarah Young brings uniquely inspired devotions for every day of the year. After many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to listen to God with pen in hand, writing down whatever she believed He was saying to her. It was awkward at first, but gradually her journaling changed from monologue to dialogue. She knew her writings were not inspired as Scripture is, but journaling helped her grow closer to God. Others were blessed as she shared her writings, until people all over the world were using her messages. These devotions are written from Jesus' point of view, thus the title Jesus Calling. It is Sarah's fervent prayer that our Savior may bless readers with His presence and His peace in ever deeper measure. This new edition, created in a lovely package for women, will help more readers discover the incredible peace found in the presence of Jesus.

Description :

J rgen Moltmann formulates necessary questions about the significance of Jesus the Christ for persons today. He offers a compelling portrait of the earthly Jesus as the divine brother in our distress and suffering and points to the risen Christ as the warrant for the "future in which God will restore everything . . . and gather everything into his kingdom." Urging that acknowledgment of Christ and discipleship are two sides of the same coin, Moltmann contends that the question of Jesus Christ for today is not just an intellectual one. Moltmann takes fresh approaches to a number of crucial topics: Jesus and the kingdom of God, the passion of Christ and the pain of God, Jesus as brother of the tortured, and the resurrection of Christ as hope for the world, the cosmic Christ, Jesus in Jewish- Christian dialogue, the future of God, and others.

Bringing to bear almost three decades of practical experience in the pulpit and the classroom, Annette Brownlee explores six questions to help preachers listen to Scripture, move from text to interpretation for weekly sermon preparation, and understand the theological significance of the sermon. Each chapter explains one of the Six Questions of Sermon Preparation, provides numerous examples and illustrations, and contains theological reflections. Nolan's portrait introduces readers to Jesus as He was before He became enshrined in doctrine, dogma, and ritual, a man deeply involved with the real problems of His time, which are the real problems of our time as well. In a new preface, Nolan reflects on recent work in Christology and how a book written in South Africa in 1976 still has a message for people today.

Description :

This book brings all the teachings and parables of Jesus to life and shows how relevant they are today. It also covers the miracles that he worked such as the raising of Lazarus from the dead - a startling feat which astounded the crowds and which forced the religious leaders to act. The teachings of Jesus on forty subjects are explored, which range from his claim to be the Christ to how we should handle life's worries, from the importance of covenant to how we can show Christian love, and from marriage to the incredible joys that await us in heaven. The book will appeal to Christians who would like to know more about Jesus and his teachings, but it will also be of interest to people of other faiths who would like an insight into this humble carpenter and prophet, who claimed to be the Son of God. The teachings of Jesus aren't just a fascinating read, but they're also a roadmap that marks out the path to heaven for us.

Seeing is believing… Do you question whether Jesus truly appears to people today? Do you long to see Him for yourself? Why Jesus Appears to People is an intimate, modern-day account of the author’s personal experiences seeing Jesus. It is also an introduction into a lifestyle that positions you for the same encounters. But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.” When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only (Matthew 17:7-8). Being saturated in the Word of God is a gateway into supernatural visitations with Jesus, both in Heaven and on earth—in dreams and in visions. To see Jesus is to be transformed. Why Jesus Appears to People positions you for living a supernaturally transformed life. Also discussed are the traps of satan to fool people—but there are ways you can discern his tactics. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last” (Revelation 1:17). You will be strongly inspired and encouraged knowing that Jesus has not changed. He greatly desires to appear to people today—to enhance and bring love and peace into their lives, your life.

Description :

The Lord intended that everyone who hears the gospel should ensure that someone else hears the same gospel. He intended that everyone who is led to the Lord Jesus should ensure that another person is led to the Lord Jesus. Through this process the Lord Jesus intended that the Church should fill the world with people who know the Lord Jesus personally and are dynamically related to Him. The Lord Jesus intended that each believer should be linked personally to the Holy Spirit and to the power of the Holy Spirit. He intended that the christian life should be lived in the power of the Holy Spirit and that everything that the believer did should be done in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Lord meant that there would be something about the life of each believer and about the ministry of each believer in soul-winning that could only be understood on the grounds that the Lord stepped in miraculously. The Lord intended that this supernatural element, resulting from the presence and from the power of the Holy Spirit, should quicken and advance the winning of the lost to the Saviour and the building of His Body, which is the Church. This power and presence was there in a mighty way at the beginning of the gospel, and rapid progress was made. However, something seems to have gone wrong somewhere. People were led to believe doctrines, creeds and philosophies, instead of being brought into life-union with the Lord. In addition, for most work of soul-winning both qualitatively and also quantitatively, it could rightly be asked, “Are we working in the power of the promised Holy Spirit?” This book is an attempt to bring the people of God back to a soul-winning, that is, the bringing of the sinner into contact and union with the Saviour, and for evangelism that is again in the power of the Holy Spirit. We send this book out with a cry that God should use it to open the eyes of some of His children, bring them to their knees and bring them to His power.

Jesus' identity is not simply "out there" to be discovered scientifically. Jesus' identity is shaped historically in believers' experience with him. Interpretation of Jesus of Nazareth, the significance of Jesus Christ, and Christian identity operate and interact in the same fashion as the hermeneutical circle. These elements simultaneously call forth and justify themselves and each other. This book addresses twenty-first-century Christians who are challenged intellectually and spiritually to read the Gospels' story of Jesus in light of what contemporary scholarship offers for understanding the first-century prophet from Nazareth, the founder of the Christian movement. he data and relational sequences discovered by "modern" categories of historiography are enriched by a higher ordering, a mentality that includes but is not limited to our usual charting.
