“A TREMENDOUS BREAKTHROUGH” in the study of St. Joseph... ...There are few subjects so challenging” to authors as St. Joseph. So says scholar Scott Hahn in his foreword to this book. Yet the pages that follow give not merely glimpses, but vistas, of St. Joseph’s world. Hahn continues: “You’ll learn about Nazareth — and how it was created almost ex nihilo shortly before Joseph’s birth. You’ll learn about religious practice and education in that place and time. You’ll travel to Egypt and encounter the fascinating settlements of Jews in that land. You’ll also find out how a carpenter worked in those days: what tools he used, what items he crafted, where he got his training, and how he got to and from his job sites.” This book provides an imaginative entry into one of the most important lives in all of history — a life too often obscured by later legends. Description :

Back cover The 81 days to Saint Michael will not only help us in constant prayers and perseverance, but also keeps our minds focused on the anticipated achievement of our desires. The method used is visual and emotional, filled with faith, hope and voluntary detachment. This prayer has the ability to reduce the enemy at its weakest expression in its attacks and makes him fearful. I have been using this method without even knowing since 1987. When I was praying for deliverance or ministering exorcism as a priest and also in my personal prayer. An attitude, a way of doing, a way of being that lead purposefully to miracle. Since the very beginning of time to now throughout the whole world, not a single miracle had happened without it. This book will show you how to without much effort if it’s your desire. This journey with saint Michael is not a magic tool for those who doubt, but a powerful and useful tool that lead to miracle or an every day’s faith practice life .You will become what you have practiced.

Description :

The physical signs of Roman Catholicism pervade the Mexican countryside. Colonial churches and neighborhood chapels, wayside shrines, and mountaintop crosses dot the landscape. Catholicism also permeates the traditional cultures of rural communities, although this ideational influence is less immediately obvious. It is often couched in enigmatic idiom and imagery, and it is further obscured by the vestiges of pagan customs and the anticlerical attitudes of many villagers. These heterodox tendencies have even led some observers to conclude that Catholicism in rural Mexico is little more than a thin veneer on indigenous practice. In Mary, Michael, and Lucifer John M. Ingham attempts to develop a modern semiotic and structuralist interpretation of traditional Mexican culture, an interpretation that accounts for the culture's apparent heterodoxy. Drawing on field research in Tlayacapan, Morelos, a village in the central highlands, he shows that nearly every domain of folk culture is informed with religious meaning. More precisely, the Catholic categories of spirit, nature, and evil compose the basic framework of the villagers' social relations and subjective experiences.

Description :

Joseph Taylor feels as though he needs to escape from his life. He is heartbroken over his failing relationships, distraught over his current complacency, and overly disillusioned with his life's direction. In an effort to leave his problems behind, he abandons his home state of Indiana to visit his friend, Ray Wallace, in Florida. Ray has his own issues he’s working through. Ray is married with two children and finds the pressures of parenthood becoming increasingly overwhelming. Their trip will serve as a means to leave their worries behind as they travel to the southern tip of the state to enjoy the Fourth of July weekend on the beach. It has been fifty-seven days since Ray has had a drink of alcohol, and it is his hope that he can maintain his sobriety during the journey. This hope proves impossible as Joseph and Ray are sucked into the bar scene. The two friends focus on their present experiences to find some meaning in their otherwise unfulfilled lives but problems arise as a result of their penchant for immediate gratification. They decide that focusing on the present, while working hard to forget their past failures, might just be their ultimate salvation.
