Bonds have long been a stalwart of investment. More than $100 billion was invested in municipal bonds alone in 2006. Now, with the economy a little less certain than it has been in recent decades, the demand for a secure place to invest money has lead to resurgence in interest in the use of bonds for many investors. Because there are many peculiarities in bond investment, you must have a basic understanding of the market, the bond issuer, how to measure rates of return and how to maximize those rates. This book provides anyone who has never invested in bonds before the ideal handbook to start investing in and earning massive returns from bonds. You will learn everything the savvy investor needs to effectively turn a high risk portfolio into a constantly growing, steadily developing source of wealth. You will learn how bonds operate on a very basic level, including the numerous different kinds of bonds and how bond funds can be a highly lucrative option. You will learn the fundamental differences between government, municipal, and corporate bonds and how much of a return you can expect from each. You will learn the basic methods of valuation and yield that bonds are measured by and how you can evaluate bonds with three basic steps. You will be guided through determining the face value, coupon rate, and sale price of a bond, as well as the ratings, insurance, maturity, callability, and taxes that might be associated with it. The importance of interest rates, inflation, and supply and demand in affecting the yield of your bonds will be detailed as well to ensure you make a careful investment. In addition to a comprehensive guide on the many options and methods of investing in bonds, dozens of interviews with financial gurus from around the nation have been conducted to provide critical, real world advice on how to successfully invest your money into bonds. You will be shown the risk free methods by which to invest in bonds, making low interest returns on U.S. government bonds, as well as the higher risk methods that will allow you to make great returns by investing in industrial and corporate bonds. You will learn how to look overseas for even more lucrative options and how to measure the risk of your bonds based on the debt in which you are investing and the callability of any one bond issuer. You will be shown how to effectively balance your portfolio to include bonds without ignoring the necessity and place for other investments. For any investor who has been agonizing over how to safely invest money for a high return, this book is for you, guiding you through the complex, but rewarding, world of bond investments. Description :

In this book, self-made millionaire Phil Towns will show you how he turned $1,000 into $1 million in only five years, and then proceeded to make many millions more. Before I became “Phil Town, teacher of investing principles to more than 500,000 people a year,” I was a lot like you: someone who viewed individual stock investing as way too hard to do successfully. As a guy who barely made a living as a river guide, I considered the whole process pretty impenetrable, and I was convinced that to do it right you had to make it a full-time job. Me, I was more interested in having full-time fun. So I was tempted to do what you’re probably doing right now: letting some mutual fund manager worry about growing your nest egg. Let me tell you why that decision could one day make you absolutely miserable. The fact is, because of natural market cycles, the mutual fund industry is likely to soon be facing twenty years of flat returns. That means that if you’ve got your nest egg tucked away in funds—especially the type found in most 401ks—your egg won’t get much bigger than it is now. Translation: Get ready for a retirement filled with lots of cold cuts, plenty of quality TV-watching time, and a place to live that’s too small to accommodate your visiting kids. I came to investing as a person who wasn’t great at math, possessed zero extra cash, and wanted a life—not an extra three hours of work to do every day. Fortunately, I was introduced to The Rule. Rule #1, as famed investor Warren Buffett will tell you, is don’t lose money. Through an intriguing process that I’ll clarify in this book, not losing money results in making more money than you ever imagined. What it comes down to is buying shares of companies only when the numbers—and the intangibles—are on your side. If that sounds too good to be true, it’s because the mind-set I’ll be introducing you to leads not to bets but to certainties. Believe me, if there were anything genius-level about this, I’d still be a river guide collecting unemployment much of the year. Part of the secret is thinking of yourself as a business owner rather than a stock investor. Part is taking advantage of today’s new Internet tools, which drastically reduce the “homework factor.” (We’re talking a few minutes, tops.) Part is knowing the only five numbers that really count in valuing a potential investment. And part—maybe the most important part—is using the risk-free Rule #1 approach to consistently pay a mere 50 cents to buy a dollar’s worth of a business. What I won’t waste your time with is fluff: a lot of vague parables reminding you of what you already know and leaving you exactly where you started. This is the real deal, folks: a start-to-finish, one-baby-step-at-a-time approach that will allow you to retire ten years sooner than you planned, with more creature comforts than you ever imagined.

Morpheus knew before all of us did. He knew the reality we created for ourselves is a lie. We are being used. We are the cogs in someone else's plan. Well, friends, I'm here to tell you that your SALARY or hourly rate is the BRIBE they give you to forget your dreams. Are you going to keep sleeping? Are you going to take a different path that freaks you the fuck out? The time to decide is right now. I don't need to tell you the world is falling apart but, do you see what a virus is doing to us humans? Do you know the way each country responds? Do you have toilet paper? I am in no way making an argument for mutiny. I love my country. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else except on a beach with a fishing rod and a never-ending drink, but that's another story. My goal is to open one of your eyes to investing. Hopefully, you will open the other eye! Then maybe with two eyes open, you can create your path. What does this mean for investing? Simple, what goes up must come down. If you are juggling flaming knives, when one is tossed up, another is aimed at you. Now, picture a trusted friend helping you with these flaming knives. Their job is to catch the knives and toss them in cold water to put out the flame. As it turns out, you can do this same thing with flaming stocks and their icy, bitter twins. These types of stocks are played against each other. When one is up, the other is down. Play the downturn loser, not the winner. Why buy the inverse stock that is running up? You probably think it is a done deal. Buy the winner hitting 15% today! Hold till tomorrow........ BUST. Often new traders have timing issues that cause them to enter into a position that suddenly drops after purchase. Instead, watch the inverse stock fall off the face of a cliff. Wait until the RSI is dirty low before buying in. Wait some more on purchasing the inverse until you see the running up stock flip (aka turn red or decrease in gains). The inverse chart will begin to show green tickers on the one day one minute chart. DO NOT PLAY INVERSE ETF'S ON ANYTHING BUT A DAY TRADE. You will lose everything and be stuck bad holding a L O S E R for a long time. I've done this. Don't do this; it sucks watching a $100 stock go to $30. You can cut your losses and take it in the rear. Or bag hold for who knows how long. When investing, you want to wait for the potential purchase to show you its actual value. A Floridian will buy shrimp off of some dude's pickup truck but, we won't dangle our feet off a dock because we know the hidden dangers under the water. Just as in investing, there are dangers you can only see when you truly take the time to look. Or you learn first hand when you get bit in the ass by a stock you had no business buying without a clear cut plan of entry and exit. You must learn to see the stocks for what they are—a shell game.
