What does it mean to be a woman? The current cultural ideal for womanhood encourages women to be strident, sexual, self-centered, independent -- and above all -- powerful and in control. But sadly, this model of womanhood hasn't delivered the happiness and fulfillment it promised. The Bible teaches that it's not up to us to decide what womanhood is all about. God created male and female for a very specific purpose. His design isn't arbitrary or unimportant. It is very intentional and He wants women to discover, embrace, and delight in the beauty of His design. He's looking for True Women! Bible teachers Mary A. Kassian and Nancy Leigh DeMoss share the key fundamentals of biblical womanhood in this eight week study. Each week includes five daily individual lessons leading to a group time of sharing and digging deeper into God's Word. And to enhance this time of learning together, on-line videos are available featuring Mary and Nancy as they encourage women to discover and embrace God's design and mission for their lives. A True Woman Book The goal of the True Woman publishing line is to encourage women to: Discover, embrace, and delight in God's divine design and mission for their lives Reflect the beauty and heart of Jesus Christ to their world Intentionally pass the baton of Truth on to the next generation Pray earnestly for an outpouring of God's Spirit in their families, churches, nation and world

A charge to women to recover what the feminist revolution has robbed them of: the God-given beauty, wonder, and treasure of their distinctive calling and mission. The feminist revolution was supposed to bring women greater fulfillment and freedom. Yet women today feel anything but fulfilled and free because they have lost the distinctiveness and richness of their calling as women. Now a movement is spreading seeds of hope, humility, obedience, and prayer-a call to return to godly womanhood-and its truth will resound in the hearts of readers through the powerful messages of Nancy Leigh DeMoss, Susan Hunt, Mary Kassian, Carolyn Mahaney, Barbara Hughes, P. Bunny Wilson, and Dorothy Patterson. Though each author approaches the subject of godly womanhood differently, a thread runs throughout that will instill joy and delight at the greatness of God's created order and the part he wants women to play in his grand, redemptive plan. Includes a study guide.

Award-winning author Mary Kassian provides readers a biblical guide to becoming the strong, resilient, capable women God created them to be. Our culture teaches us that it's important for women to be strong. The Bible agrees. Unfortunately, culture's idea of what makes a woman strong doesn't always align with the Bible's. As a result, Christians often have a skewed view of what constitutes strength. In The Right Kind of Strong, Mary Kassian delves into Paul's exhortation in 2 Timothy about the women of the church in Ephesus and uncovers warnings and truths about seven habits that can sap women's strength. She reveals how, by guarding against these seven pitfalls, Christian women can walk in freedom and grow to be strong God's way.

It's not WHO Jael was that makes her special but WHAT she did for God. What Jael did was she heard God's call and faithfully obeyed. What Jael did was not self-serving, but was God's bidding. What Jael did was exactly what God planned for her, and she did to the best of her feminine ability. How ironic that God choose a gentile woman, whose ancestors worshipped idols, for such a major task. What message do we see in this story? It shows us that God does not view us as saved or unsaved. Jael was neither Israelite nor male but God used her anyway. God used her in a way that requires the faith of a Christian and the courage of a male, yet she was neither. God used the least and less likely one in the village. She was a nomad, the one that did not belong.

Merriam-Webster's dictionary defines healing as "to make free from injury or disease, to make sound or whole, to cause an undesirable condition to be overcome, to patch up or correct such as breach between friends, to restore to original purity or integrity, healed from sin." Even from a worldly standpoint or definition, healing encompasses a "restored or whole" viewpoint. There are a plethora of verses in the Bible regarding God's healing. His Word addresses recovery of the body, bones, heart, flesh, mind, thoughts, and emotions. These verses are powerful for they are the Lord's Words and the Bible records, ..".so is my Word that goes out from my mouth; It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11) The Word of God is flawless bringing health to the body and strength to the bones (Proverbs 3:8, 2 Samuel 22:31, Psalm 12:6, Psalm 18:30, Proverbs 30:5). God's Word has brought healing and restoration to many situations in my life. I have prayed over depression, thoughts, my marriage, my children, my emotions, a broken heart, trust issues, and more. God has been faithful in all circumstances to reveal and refresh my life. I have written several books on the women in the Bible. This volume is a collection of the women I have penned throughout my One a Day series. Many of these women you know. You have heard their stories and testimonies, but this volume focuses on their healing, which has brought such comfort for my heart. God used His daughters in amazing ways to achieve His purpose and plans. Many women mentioned in the Word were healed from oppressive situations and I have gained much insight from their story. These thirty women were healed in different ways, as we all come to God broken and in need of restoration. You will read stories and testimonies of remarkable women who surpassed and conquered hardships and were healed from infirmities. Many of their journeys were difficult, as many of ours are today. God's Word is still relevant and available for human nature has not changed. We still seek healing, we still seek our purpose and plan, and we still seek the Living God.

The Acts of Paul and Thecla was written around 150 CE when there was a growing body of work attributed to the apostle Paul. Owing to the abrupt beginning of the work it is thought The Acts of Paul and Thecla was part of a larger texts and was extracted to form a stand alone work. Reasons given for its omission from the Bible are numerous. It was thought to have been written after the apostolic age; it gives high and powerful position to women in the faith; it urges women to withhold sex from their husbands and live chaste lives. Within its storyline Thecla seems to eclipse Paul in her courage and commitment to the spread of the Gospel. The text presents an unwavering stance on the virtue of celibacy preached by Paul and amplified by Thecla. In addition, Thecla is presented as a strong willed woman who took it upon herself to preach, teach, heal, and baptize, all without permission or oversight from a man. In the age when canon was being decided, women in positions of leadership within the church was an anomaly, and the idea that a wife could decide her own fate, and even withhold sex from her husband was looked on as heresy and insolence. These were social constraints, which tainted the interpretation of scripture, both then and now. We will examine the true place of women in the Bible and how translators diminished the place and accomplishments of women by mistranslating words and phrases. We will look at the true meaning of many Bible verses as well as the complete text of Paul and Thecla, with an eye toward how women were a driving force in religion and family in the early church. In the end, a more true and just vision of women of the Bible and of ancient times will be revealed.
